Christelle Dominique’s fashion

Christelle Dominique has a passion for fashion. The Minnesota State University Moorhead junior is pursuing a degree in marketing, but also takes apparel and textiles classes at North Dakota State University. "Fashion was my first choice, but I had to have a backup plan just in case," Dominique said. Dominique made a name for herself in her home country of Haiti and the U.S., starting her own clothing line, MeJeanne Couture. Dominique still sends sketches to her mom in Haiti who consults with seamstresses who sew the pieces for her. She will show her work at the Plains Art Museum’s Spring Gala on May 1. She will also present her collection at the Atlanta International Fashion Week in July. Carrie Snyder / The Forum
