Bryan Liedman’s screening

A brand new digital projector has been installed at the Fargo Theatre, just in time for the Fargo Film Festival which runs Tuesday through Saturday. "It was paid for with money made from showings of (the recent scary movie) Paranormal Activity. The old one was embarrassing. It was probably seven years old, ancient," says Bryan Liedman who is one of the projectionists at the downtown art deco movie theatre. Sixty movies in eight categories have been selected from 130 entries and will be shown on the main screen and the new second theater screen. Liedman, who has about five years experience as a projectionist, will work about half of each day and then back to his classes at Minnesota State University Moorhead where he is a junior majoring in film studies with an emphasis on production. "I’m constantly writing scripts," he tells of his interest adding, "They’re half done and still need plenty of work." Dave Wallis / The Forum
